Hybrid Mediation: 3 CPD Points

The hybrid mediation course explores the issues around mixing online with face to face mediation practices. Post Covid 33% of clients will be looking for face to face delivery of mediation. The movement for mediators out of a lock calls for a combination of face to face and online delivery, this will raise a number of issues for mediators. This workshop explores how mediators can explore issues such as the balance of power, effective mediation approaches and ensuring we focus on clients' needs.

This course has been designed to help you, as a mediator, to identify the key questions you need to think about in establishing a hybrid between online and face to face delivery. The course will draw from the findings of the Trust's research into clients' opinions regarding online delivery, client feedback through mediation and SPIPS and look to help mediators explore how they work with clients after the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

The course will also incorporate PPC input into questions, such as:

  • When should face to face delivery be used?
  • What skills will you need to deliver a service that includes online delivery and face to face delivery?
  • What happens if each client wants a different delivery approach?

The course will be run be lead trainer and PPC Adrian Wright.
