The Family Mediation Trust will be running a 75-minute training session for those working with separated parents. The session will explore how family mediation works. The course is delivered by our CEO and an accredited mediator and draws on the Trusts 40 years of experience.

Description

With increasing court lists and the added delays created by Covid-19, the role of family mediation has never been more important. This session has been designed to give you an understanding of family mediation and will cover:

  • The family mediation process
  • Who can undertake family mediation
  • Legal aid support
  • The role of family mediation, before, during and after court proceedings
  • What cases mediation is most effective at supporting
  • Options for referral of cases 

The session is interactive and provides opportunities to discuss any of the topics and how they relate to the clients and families you work with. 

The session will be run by Michael Mack, FMC Standards Board and CEO of The Family Mediation Trust,  and Jane Bridge who is the Service's Professional Practice Consultant and has been a family mediator for over 20 years.
