Lisa Harker
Director of the Nuffield Family Justice Observatory

Lisa’s career has combined research, policy, journalism, campaigning and service delivery with a focus on finding ways to improve the lives of the UK’s most disadvantaged children. 

She has been the Director of Strategy at the NSPCC, led the Institute for Public Policy Research think tank, was an advisor to BBC News and held various senior advisory roles within government, including as ‘child poverty tsar’. 

Lisa is a Visiting Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford and has first-hand experience of the family justice system as an adoptive parent of two children. Lisa Harker joined the Nuffield Family Justice Observatory as Director in April 2019.
