Specialising in family law, Helen’s vast experience as a solicitor has resulted in her providing excellent mediation across Cambridge for 25 years

With extensive experience as a solicitor (currently non-practising), Helen is an accredited mediator and an experienced presenter on the Separated Parents Information Programme.

Specialisms 

Helen specialises in family mediation and SPIP workshops and is an accredited mediator with the College of Mediators, a recognised mediator for the Legal Aid Agency, and complies with all professional requirements of the Family Mediation Council.

Helen is also an accredited mediator with Resolution (formerly Solicitors' Family Law Association) and is an experienced presenter on the Separated Parents Information Programme.

Training and employment background

Helen worked as a solicitor specialising in family law from 1993 to 2019. From 1993 to 1996 she set up and ran a Family Law Service at the Citizens Advice Bureau in Cambridge.

She also lectured in law on the Institute of Legal Executives Programme from 1992 to 1995. Helen has worked for Cambridge Family Mediation Service as a family mediator since 1995.

Helen regularly works as an At Court Mediator at the Family Court, Cambridge.

Helen says:

"I believe that mediation remains the most cost effective way to resolve issues arising from separation and divorce. Clients are always encouraged to obtain some independent legal advice to support the mediation process but benefit from the legal information that I am able to provide."
