Michael Mack and Jane Bridge of the Family Mediation Trust will be running a 75 minute training session exploring how family mediation works and how you can use this as a tool to manage suitable cases.

  • Date: 16/02/2021 14:00
  • Location Online Event

Description

Michael is a Norfolk Magistrate and CEO of The Family Mediation Trust, a charitable organisation providing legal aid mediation to families across the East of England. Jane is the Service's Professional Practice consultant and has been a family mediator for over 20 years.

With increasing court lists and the added delays created by Covid-19, the role of family mediation has never been more important. The recent announcements by Judge Wildblood showed the importance of keeping courts focused on the cases that needed them, and not for cases that could be dealt with through other solutions - such as mediation.

We will look to address:

  • The family mediation process
  • Who can undertake family mediation
  • Legal aid support
  • The role of family mediation, before, during and after court proceedings
  • What cases mediation is most effective at supporting
  • Options for referral of cases

The course will be run on TEAMs, the session is easy to attend. Simply Register on this link and the session link will be sent to you the day before the start date.
