Description

As a Family Mediator it is so important to make sure the voice of the child is heard in our practice, that’s why Child Inclusive Mediation is such an important practice to understand and use when necessary. Indeed, we are required to offer this opportunity for any child and young person ages 10 or over who wishes to be involved in the mediation process directly, that’s why we want to ensure that you know you’re at the top of your game when it comes to CIM.

This course will give you the opportunity to enhance your work with parents when dealing with cases of CIM and give you the skills and knowledge to include children directly in the mediation process in a meaningful, effective way. The skills and techniques you gain from this course can be used as part of your mediation practice following FMA/FMC Policy and as a Child Consultant in Collaborative Practice where appropriate.

What you can expect from the course:

  • Role play scenarios
  • Discussions and presentations within the group of attendees
  • Building on knowledge of child development and research
  • Learning of Child Inclusive practice in the UK and other jurisdictions
  • Learning of how you can best apply your new technique to your own CIM practices
