The Safeguarding Policies and Procedures for Family Mediators within the FMC’s Code of Practice states that ‘mediators must have appropriate safeguarding policies and procedures in place’. Because of this, we want to help you make sure you’re always at the top of your game when it comes to the safeguarding of children. This course sets out to ensure that all participating mediators, no matter their experience level, are confident in their abilities to identify and respond to signs of child abuse and neglect amongst their clients.

This course will help you finetune your pre-existing safeguarding skills and policies by:

  • Identifying what is meant by child abuse and keeping children safe
  • Exploring the different types, signs, and indicators of abuse and neglect
  • Helping you understand how to respond to concerns about the safety and welfare of children and knowing who to report to
  • Helping you understand what the process is for reporting your concerns and recording your observations

This course will be run by the highly skilled  and experienced accredited mediator Judi Lyons.
