2021/22 Accounts

The 2022 annual report shows that the Trust achieved an increase in positive outcomes, from mediation, of over 70%. This increase is testament to the Team's continued focus on ensuring clients have both the support they need and confidence to reach viable agreements through mediation.

The Trust's CEO, Michael Mack "2021/22 was a challenging year; a year dogged by Covid-19 recovery, with clients still facing significant challenges and restrictions. But for the Team at the Trust, it was a year which enabled us to explore how we work, to improve the way we support clients. This focus achieved an increase in clients coming forward for MIAMs and the number of cases reaching mediation and agreements. This focus paid off with the Trust recording a 27.5% increase in turnover".

Tracey Sortwell the Trust's Chair of Trustees "This year's annual report shows the commitment of the Team at the Trust to deliver a high-quality mediation service to our clients. The report also shows how the Team have looked at supporting the mediation world. I'm immensely proud that we not only secured College of Mediators accreditation for CPD delivery, but we also held two groundbreaking events: the Mediators' Conference and a public debate on whether mediation should be compulsory.

Looking ahead at the year to come, there are some big challenges; for not only the Trust, but the mediation world. One of our biggest challenges is providing legal aid mediation - over the last few years this work has significantly increased; but with payment rates still set at the 2004 level, it is increasingly challenging to deliver this work at the level we believe these clients deserve".
